Caring for your Slime.

Activator. What is it, and why is it important?

Activator is a solution containing borate ions (borax!). When mixed with slime, these ions trigger a chemical reaction called cross-linking, where the glue’s polymer chains bond together. This transforms the glue mixture into stretchy, moldable slime. If your slime becomes too sticky over time, adding a small amount of activator restores the balance by reinforcing these bonds—just remember, a little is enough to maintain the ideal texture!

How to make Activator

1tsp Borax + 1 cup warm water.

Easy right? If your slime is sticky, knead in a little bit of this activator. Too much will make it tough!

Each Serenity Slime comes with a baggy containing 1tsp of borax so you can make your own! But if you need more, borax can be found at most grocery stores in the cleaning aisle.

🫧 Serenity Slimes Care Instructions 🫧

  1. Wash Your Hands
Always play with clean, dry hands to keep your slime fresh and clear.

  2. Keep Play Area Clean
Make sure your table is clean from dirt, dust, and oil. The slime will stick to a dirty table!

  3. Store Properly
After use, place your slime back in its airtight container to prevent drying out.

  4. If It Gets Sticky
Knead in a tiny bit of activator. If you use too much, the slime will get stiff and rippy.

  5. If It Gets Stiff
Add a drop or two of water or unscented lotion, then knead until soft and stretchy again.

  6. Keep It Clean
Avoid playing on fabric, carpet, or near pets. Dirt and dust will make your slime sad!

  7. Temperature Tips
Slime loves cool, dry places. Heat can make it sticky, cold can make it stiff—both are easy fixes!
